Paid traffic stops when the budget does

Campaigns bring bursts of visitors; search keeps sending them. IndexBoost gets your new landing pages and articles submitted to Google and Bing the moment they go live, so they can start pulling in organic traffic too.

Context

Tracking campaigns cleanly

1

Agree on a naming convention

If one person tags 'Facebook' and another 'fb', your reports split the same channel in two. Write down a short list of allowed sources and mediums and share it with your team.

2

Never tag internal links

Adding UTMs to links between your own pages starts a new session and overwrites where the visitor originally came from. Use them only on links that point to your site from somewhere else.

3

Use content to test variations

Two buttons in the same email, or two versions of an ad, can share a campaign and differ only by utm_content. That makes it easy to see which one earned the click.

4

Keep tagged URLs out of search

UTM links shouldn't end up in your sitemap or internal navigation. A canonical tag pointing to the clean URL keeps search engines from indexing the tagged versions.
