How backlink tracking works

It uses the accounts you have already connected. There is nothing extra to set up.

Connect Google
Signing in with Google lets IndexBoost read the links Search Console reports.

Add your Bing key
With a Bing Webmaster API key, the backlinks Bing knows about are added too.

Reddit is included
Links to your site from Reddit are collected alongside them.

Filter the list
Show all backlinks or only those from Google, Bing or Reddit, with the date each was discovered.

Data from the search engines: Google and Bing backlinks come from their own webmaster tools, not from a third-party crawler’s estimate.
Source and target: Each row shows the linking page, the page on your site it points to and when it was discovered.

Is this a full backlink index like Ahrefs?

No. It shows the links Google and Bing report for your site, plus Reddit. It does not crawl the web on its own.

Why would a backlink be missing?

Search engines only report links they have found and chosen to count. New links can take a while to appear.

Can I see a competitor’s backlinks?

No. Backlinks are only available for sites you have verified. You can look up any domain’s Domain Rating with the free checker.
