One list of sitemaps, kept in step with Google and Bing.

Turn on auto-sync and IndexBoost submits every sitemap it discovers to Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools, then checks both again every day.

How sitemap sync works

Two switches in site settings, one for each search engine. The daily check runs on its own after that.

  1. 1

    Connect your accounts

Sign in with Google for Search Console and add your Bing API key for Bing Webmaster Tools.

  2. 2

    Turn on auto-sync

Enable sitemap sync for Google, Bing or both in your site settings. Each search engine has its own switch.

  3. 3

    New sitemaps go out

When IndexBoost discovers a new sitemap on your site, it is submitted to every search engine you enabled.

  4. 4

    Daily reconcile

Once a day, sitemaps missing from Search Console or Bing are submitted, and ones they know about are added to your site.

Both directions, every day

Submit on discovery
A sitemap added by your CMS or a plugin is sent to Google and Bing as soon as IndexBoost finds it.
Pull back what is missing
Sitemaps you already submitted in Search Console or Bing Webmaster Tools are added to your site in IndexBoost, so their URLs get indexed too.
Separate switches
Sync to Google, to Bing, or to both. The settings are per site.
Works from your AI assistant
The MCP server can list submitted sitemaps, submit one to Bing, add or remove one in Search Console and change sync settings.

Common questions

Why submit sitemaps if IndexBoost already submits URLs?

A sitemap in Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools gives you their coverage reports and helps crawlers find pages beyond your daily submission quota.

Does sync remove sitemaps from Search Console?

No. Reconciling only adds what is missing on either side. Removing a sitemap is a manual action.

How often are sitemaps checked?

New sitemaps are submitted when they are first discovered, and both search engines are reconciled once a day.

Is sitemap sync on by default?

No. Turn it on per site in site settings, separately for Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
